New Year New Crew New Adventures

Posted by Captain Chris on February 8, 2016 at 2:30 PM Comments comments (0)

The year started out with new challenges and excitement as we prepare for 50 years of Trek! Jennifer Baldwin and I attended the town meeting at Pine Village. We purposed to them the “My Free Little Library” project and they were very receptive, they assigned us to a committee and we are meeting with them for the first time on February 17th at 5:30 at the Williamsport Li-brary. So our project is finally moving forward. Our January meeting was held at IHOP and we discussed many things. Hope Springs, battered women’s shel-ter, drive continues please bring hygene items to the library or Food Basket or drop off to Jen-nifer at the Newspaper office in Attica. We heard from Ellie about collecting for the Home-less in Tippecanoe County and surrounding areas, There are so many things that we can be doing to help others in the name of “Trek”. At the meeting we also appointed Laurie White as our new historian, she will be doing a Moore Scrapbook, and we voted to pay for Tom Marr’s member and turnover the website to him to keep up dated and fresh. Tom is retired computer guy and this would be perfect for him. Wel-come aboard Tom and Laurie and thank in advance for your service. Our next venture will be February 20th, Bowling at Shawnee Lanes in Attica at 5pm and then pizza. What a year we have coming up, Mini Con is coming, local festivals, Trek Fest, Comic Con, Star Base Indy and all the activities in between. Wow what an amazing year for the Moore, Nearly everyone renewed and we have gained new members. Please welcome aboard: Rita Brown, Mikayla Martin, Laurie White, James Hunt, Michael Marquess III, Evan Marquess, Gage Baldwin, Aleah Baldwin, Justice Lucas, and Tom Marr. Our ship is sooooo close to being ranked as a large ship. If you recruit just two more mem-bers, although I would like five new members to solidify the ranking. This year we want to be as visible as we can, show our pride that we are “Trekkers” or “Trekkies” with our 50th upon us. I think people will be wanting to join us, but like all things some people must be invited, so don’t hesitate to ask, what the worst things they could do? Say “no” but they might say “yes”. So talk to your friends, co-workers, let them know about all we do and “Moore”. They can pick up an application at the library, Food Basket, Newspaper and Blue Moon comics. The bigger the better and “Moore” we grow!
