The USS MOORE NCC 17015 was the dream of its former commanding officer James P Coree. He had spent more than two decades devising everything that made her unique, from uniform design to, at one point, deck by deck configuartion.
It wasn't until he went to Starbase Indy in late 2011 that he finally decided that he had waited long enough. After winning a free one-year membership to Starfleet Command Quadrant 1 in a trivia contest, Coree filled out the paperwork to commission a new ship into the fleet. Thus, the USS MOORE NCC 17015 was finally realized.
Since joinning, the USS MOORE has made a name for itself. James helped organize a fleet trip to TrekFest at Riverside, IA. He started working on a database for ships to use. He also has championed and got made a liaison to Trekkers Against Bullying to the organization. Finally, at Starbase Indy '12, LTjg Coree was given the Senior Officer of the Year Award for Starbase 6. It was after that that one of the other Starbase commanders told him that "the USS MOORE is the yardstick by which everyone is measuring themselves". This couldn't be more of an honor.
